چکیده

Biliary intraepithelial neoplasm with intraductal papillary neoplasm of bile duct is known as a precursor lesion for intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. Therefore, to prevent the intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma, it is important to diagnose the biliary intraepithelial neoplasm. The biliary intraepithelial is classified into BilIN-1, BilIN-2, and BilIN-3 by the atypia of cell and nuclei, loss of nuclear polarity, and disorder of the arrangement of nuclei. This paper classifies BilIN-1 and BilIN-2 using the proposed features based on the Normal Nuclei-Array Model with existing features for nuclei. For showing how the proposed features to improve the accuracy of classification, the experiment is performed by using the proposed features with the existing features of nuclei. The Classifier is used multilayer neural networks with back-propagation algorithm. The experiment results show that the accuracy of classification with the existing nuclei features and proposed features is improved about 13% than the classification with only the existing nuclei features.

Phycobiliprotein - Bilin Linkage Diversity

The peptides were examined by lH NMR, circular dichroism spectroscopy, and secondary ion mass spectrometry. The ‘H NMR data confirmed that in each case the bilin was attached through a single linkage, a thioether bond between the cysteinyl residue and the tetrapyrrole moiety. Comparison of the ’H NMR spectra of these peptides with those of appropriate model compounds showed that the thioether l...

Biliary Intraepithelial Neoplasia (BilIN) in Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis: The First Report from Iran

BACKGROUND Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) as one of the most common chronic cholestatic liver diseases is a main predisposing factor for the development of cholangiocarcinoma (CCA). Biliary intraepithelial neoplasia (BilIN) is defined as precancerous bile duct epithelial changes, which can be eventually led to cholangiocarcinoma. There are very few studies about the frequency of BilIN in ...

Phytochromes: an atomic perspective on photoactivation and signaling.

The superfamily of phytochrome (Phy) photoreceptors regulates a wide array of light responses in plants and microorganisms through their unique ability to reversibly switch between stable dark-adapted and photoactivated end states. Whereas the downstream signaling cascades and biological consequences have been described, the initial events that underpin photochemistry of the coupled bilin chrom...

The phycocyanobilin chromophore of streptophyte algal phytochromes is synthesized by HY2.

Land plant phytochromes perceive red and far-red light to control growth and development, using the linear tetrapyrrole (bilin) chromophore phytochromobilin (PΦB). Phytochromes from streptophyte algae, sister species to land plants, instead use phycocyanobilin (PCB). PCB and PΦB are synthesized by different ferredoxin-dependent bilin reductases (FDBRs): PΦB is synthesized by HY2, whereas PCB is...

Histological Characterization of Biliary Intraepithelial Neoplasia with respect to Pancreatic Intraepithelial Neoplasia

Biliary intraepithelial neoplasia (BilIN) is a precursor lesion of hilar/perihilar and extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. BilIN represents the process of multistep cholangiocarcinogenesis and is the biliary counterpart of pancreatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PanIN). This study was performed to clarify the histological characteristics of BilIN in relation to PanIN. Using paraffin-embedded tissue ...
